Lawyers to have protest meeting on 9th March–>The News

The lawyers in Karachi announced to hold a joint protest meeting on March 9 along with the civil society and journalist organisations against the continuous detention of the deposed Supreme Court judges. “The lawyers will hold a protest meeting at the Karachi Press Club (KPC) on March 9 along with the civil society and journalist organisations,” President, Sindh High Court Bar Association (SHCBA), Rasheed A Razvi, told journalists at a press conference. “The lawyers’ movement has come into the final phase and the nation will soon hear the good news,” he said adding that the month of March will compel the people to march against those who are creating hurdles in the reinstatement of the judges. Justice (Retd) Razvi said that the All Pakistan Lawyers Convention to be held in Lahore on March 15 and the Bar Councils and associations will give the “long march call”. He urged the political parties to join the lawyers’ struggle for independence of the judiciary and reinstatement of the superior court judges. Regarding participation of the political parties, he said the All Parties Democratic Movement will be invited for their participation in the lawyers meeting besides other political parties. Karachi Bar Association (KBA), President Mehmoodul Hasan, made it clear that the lawyers’ black flag protest week was not against the newly-elected political parties but warned of strong resistance if these parties deviated from their promises regarding reinstatement of the superior court judges and independence of the judiciary. Uzma Noorani of the People’s Resistance and Karachi Union of Journalists President Khursheed Tanveer also supported the lawyers’ struggle for the independence of the judiciary and reinstatement of the deposed judges of the superior courts.

Lawyers to observe Iftikhar Day on 31st Jan.

The Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) on Monday called upon all provincial bar councils, bar associations and members of the bar across the country to observe ‘Iftikhar Day’ on Thursday (January 31), to express their support to the cause of independent judiciary and rule of law. In a press statement, Mirza Aziz Akbar Baig, the PBC vice-chairman, asked the lawyers to arrange protest rallies, meetings and demonstrations on Thursday. “The legal fraternity reiterates its pledge to continue struggle for the restoration of deposed chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and all other judges of the superior courts, who did not take oath under illegitimate Provisional Constitutional Order (PCO),” he added.

NewQuettaHotel: I think civil society(specially students),media and power hungry politicians should also join the effort.

This Madness should come to an end now.

I don’t know what people want to achieve by burning and damaging public property ,banks, hospitals, shops, cars, buses etc.

These things will not serve any good cause or bring back Benazir Bhutto (I think with protesters some criminal elements have joined their hands now or it’s a frustration as a result of poverty and powerlessness).

Yesterday I got a real bad news , my University (FAST-NU) was set on fire by the violent mob, they stole the computers, damaged the engineering labs and stole the equipment and also burnt the seminar rooms, academics etc

Reports are not good about TIPs (Textile Institute of Pakistan) as well … I hope people trapped there have safely reached home(I really hope that the reports are wrong but they are coming from many sources).

This madness should come to an end now and we should act as a real responsible and one nation.

May Allah help us and guide us.

Janib e Manzil Barha Rastai Mein Hi Bhatak Gaia…

Janib e manzil barha rastai mein hi bhatak gaia

Kuch dhundh thi chai hoi kuch mein rasta bhool gaia

Dhundh chatnai ka intazar karoon

Yeh is ghari ka taqaza nahi

Roshni Milnai ka intazar karoon

Yeh waqt merai paas nahi

Bhooli hoi rah khud mil jai

Yeh mumkin nahi hargiz nahi

Ab raasta bhi khud hai dhoondna

Manzil ki talash khud hai karni

InshaAllah Phir roshni bhi aaigi

Aur manzil bhi Khuda Daiga

We just need to take an initiative to the right path and InshaAllah the success will come

“And remember when you were few and were reckoned weak in the Land, and were afraid that men might kidnap you but He (the Most High) provided a safe place for you, strengthened you with His help and provided you with good things so that you might be grateful” (8; 26) Al-Quran.

May Allah be our guide.

Hum Dekhaingai—>Faiz Ahmed Faiz

Faiz Ahmed Faiz wrote this in Ayub Khan’s Martial Law and it is still valid for today.

One of the most inspiring poem and probably one of the most lasting. hum dekhaingai
lazim hai ke hum bhi dekhaingai
hum dekhaingai
woh din ke jis ka wada hai…hum dekhaingai
jo loh-e-azal pe likha hai…hum dekhiangai

jab zulm-o-sitam ke kooh-e-garan,
rooyi ki tarah u’dh jayengai
hum mehkoomon ke paoon tale,
yeh dharti gha’dh gha’dh gha’dhke gi
aur ahl-e-hakam ke saron per,
jab bijli ka’dh ka’dh ka’dhke gi

hum dekhaingai
lazim hai ke hum bhi dekhaingai
hum dekhaingai

jab arz-e-khuda ke kaabe sai,
sab butt uthwaye jayengai
hum ahl-e-safa mardood-e-haram,
masnad pe bithaaye jayengai
sab taj uchhale jayengai,
sab takhat giray jayengai

hum dekhaingai
lazim hai ke hum bhi dekhaingai
hum dekhaingai

bas naam rahe ga Allah ka
jo gayab bhi hai hazir bhi
jo manzar bhi hai nazir bhi
uthe ga anal haq ka na’ra
jo main bhi hoon aur tum bhi ho
aur raaj kare gi khalq-e-khuda
jo main bhi hoon aur tum bhi ho

hum dekhaingai

lazim hai ke hum bhi dekhainge
hum dekhainge
woh din ke jis ka wada hai…hum dekhainge
jo loh-e-azal pe likha hai…hum dekhiange

HUM INSHAALLAH JALD HI DEKHAINGAI…….

A big question mark on the performance of so called religious parties—->Specially Maulana Diesel Group(JUI-F)

MQM musters support from Deobandis—->Daily Times

By Fareed Farooqui

KARACHI: Mufti Mohammad Naeem, the Mohtamim (head) of Jamia Binnoria Al-Almiya and other religious seminaries affiliated to it, has announced their support for the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) in Elections 2008.

“The religious parties secured votes in the name of Islam in the Elections 2002. The Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazal (JUI-F) who led the MMA did nothing in the interest of Islam and religious voters,” Mufti Naeem told Daily Times on Saturday.

Giving reasons for his decision to support the MQM, Mufti Naeem lashed out at the MMA’s two leading parties, saying that their legislators preferred perks instead of defending the Islamic interests of the Pakistani constituents.

He said that the religious parties had failed to deliver what they had promised to the people of their constituencies. The JI and JUI-F instead played B-team for Pervez Musharraf for the last five years, he alleged.

According to the country’s top cleric, the Federal and provincial ministers and CDGK representatives, on the other hand, had offered their services to the common citizen. A large portion of voters of religious parties was settled in Karachi but had no representative to go with their problems. “A few days earlier, we had contacted City Nazim Mustafa Kamal, who had responded quite positively by visiting the Jamia,” he said. “We appreciate him for his kindness as he issued directives on the scene for all the issues to be resolved.”

It was useless to caste votes in the name of Islam because all the religious parties had duped their voters, Mufti Naeem argued. Securing votes on behalf of religious parties was simply a deception and drama, he added.

During his visit, Kamal had said that the Jamia had the ability to offer the best doctors, engineers and scientists to the country. He assured that efforts would be made to make the Jamia a centre of excellence.

Mainstream Deobandis remain under the influence of Jamia Binoria of Binori Town. A majority of senior and elderly scholars have always supported the MMA parties and in particular the JUI.

Mufti Naeem’s Jamia is situated in SITE and he has tilted towards the MQM or the government in the past. Therefore, it is hardly surprising that has made public his supports for the MQM.

The Altaf Hussain-led MQM enjoyed the support of a faction of the Deobandis in the local council elections in 2005. So far, however, the mainstream Deobandi centre has yet to make public its elections policy. In general, it remains neutral in political affairs but Mufti Nizamuddin Shamzai and his colleagues had overtly and actively backed the MMA in the 2002 Elections. His group believed in the unity and cohesion of Muslims irrespective of their different schools of thought.

NewQuettaHotel: Maulana Diesel ki politics nai Deeni Jamaaton kai tasawur ko nuqsaan pohanchaia hai yeh usi ka unjaam hai.

The darkest places in hell…

“The darkest places in hell are reserved for those who maintain their neutrality in times of moral crisis.” Dante

I wonder if this is true then what will happen with most of us?

Aakhir Yeh kaisi jang hai?

Agar Pakistan kai mojuda halat ko daikha jai to insaan yeh sochnai pai majboor ho jata hai kai aakhir hum kis khaiee mein ja rahai hain. Aik janib subaiat or lisaniat ki tafreeq to doosri janib intiha pasand aur aitaidaal pasand groh bandian, insaan ki jan itni sasti kai aik mobile ya chand paison kai liay zaya hojati hai, yahan madarsai kai bachon ko tau qanoon tornai kai jurm mein or riasti taqat ko lalkaarnai kai jurm mein moat ki saza hoti hai to doosri taraf qanoon taurnai wala Sadar ban jata hai.

Jahan masjidain weeran ho rahi horahii hai laikin heera mandian aabad horahi hain, aakhir hum kahan ja rahai hain.

Aik taraf to hum kahtai hain kai do qaumi nazariai kai naam pai mulk bana tha laikin ab Islam aur kufur ki jang mulk mein hi shuroo hogai hai, aakhir yeh kaisi jang hai jis mein shaheed bhi apnai hain aur halak bhi apnai. Sirf Allah hi humain hidayat dai saktai hai aur humain dua karni chahiay kai hidayat milnai kai hum mustahiq thehrain warna to aagai kuan hai aur peechai khai hai.
